Abstract

Abstract: Our data show the suppressive effect of hyperglycemia on expression of voltage-gated Na+ channel β3 subunit by Schwann cells as well as the protection of β3 expression by treatment with IL-6. Our findings have direct relevance for therapy of diabetic neuropathy.
